WRC: Ford Fiesta test with the engine of the Focus
In house development goes well Ford Fiesta RS WRC car next season that will collect the inheritance of the Focus WRC in the World Rally Championship. Between today and tomorrow the House of Detroit will play a very interesting test on the roads that usually host the Rally of Sardinia: the small car, which now runs in the Super 2000 class, will be mounted in the engine of the Focus with this year’s Mikko Hirvonen chasing the victory.
The objective of the test, that the Citroen has already played DS3 WRC engine mounted on the C4 WRC is to see how they react to the chassis and transmission power (300 hp) and the high torque (550 N / m) of this engine. If it in fact the car will have problems adapting to the best of the new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that will be used in 2011.
