BMW confirms the rumored “Series 0″
Rumors of a sub-series model 1 have ceased to be such. Norbert Reithofer met in Geneva with Coach reporters to chat about the future of its smaller models, and used the occasion to confirm release (perhaps in 2013) of a car positioned below its current step access to the range , intended to compete with the new Audi A1. Their bones are taken directly from the next MINI, so that production could take place in England. The new architecture will enable front-wheel drive variants and comprehensive.
The curious thing is that this new “Serial 0″ has nothing to do as the CEO of BMW’s famous Megacity project, but with the group’s plans to expand the catalog of MINI and BMW with a larger number of smaller models. The fibrous organic urban BMW therefore take a different path, leaving his brother “dirty” conquer sales from consumers who seek a more traditional vehicle.
As regards the third generation of the 1 Series, BMW has not decided whether its compact model will be a front-or rear, but we are confident that BMW will make every effort to maintain its sharp behavior. Until 2018 is a long time anyway, so if you lose sleep, do so at least redesign the model to be presented when you reach the second generation, which is almost falling. All eyes are now on Mr. van Hooydonk.
